What is Facial Reflexology?
Facial Reflexology is a luxurious, usually deeply relaxing treatment which works on the same principle as Reflexology but instead of working on the feet, we work on the face!
By gently pressing reflex pressure points on the face, messages or signals are sent to the organs, tissues and glands of the body, helping bring the body back into balance.
The massage movements of the treatment helps to bring nutrients to the skin and helps remove waste products via the lymphatic system.
This helps to leave the skin feeling firmer, more supple, nourished and soft.
A luxurious oil or elixir is used on the skin adding a feeling of being pampered.
This helps to moisturise the skin, leaving it looking radiant and nourished. Facial reflexology is usually deeply calming and relaxing.
If you have sensitive skin and would prefer to use your own facial moisturiser or serum then please bring it to your appointment so I can use that instead!
What are the Benefits of Facial Reflexology?
Facial Reflexology may help to
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve appearance of skin
- Improve sleep patterns
- Increase sense of wellbeing
- Improve circulation to the face and head
- Relieve foggy-headedness
- Improve ability to focus
- Reduce congestion in face and sinuses
- Create a sense of calm and relaxation
What happens in a Facial Reflexology Treatment?
After taking a thorough consultation I will use hot towels to refresh the face.
I will start the treatment with some gentle warm up moves after which I will apply the luxurious oil blend to your skin.
The reflexology sequence, using a range of techniques using my fingers and thumbs comes next. This is followed by a cool down facial massage routine.
To mark the end of the treatment you will usually hear a little ‘ding’ of my bell or I will gently squeeze your shoulders to indicate that the treatment has come to an end.
You will be given a short period of time to ‘come back into the room’ and a glass of water.
Please note that unlike a Beauty Facial or Holistic Facial, Facial Reflexology does NOT include any cleansing, toning, exfoliating or moisturising etc. It is purely a reflexology treatment on the face.
Do I need to remove any clothes for facial reflexology?
No, apart from your footwear (you can keep your socks on!)
The treatment is just on the face (and the arms, shoulders and neck but as I don’t apply oil to the arms, shoulders and neck there is no reason to remove any clothing)
How often should I have a Facial Reflexology treatment?
If you are wanting Facial Reflexology for relaxation and general wellbeing then once or twice a month is perfect.
If you would like to address any issues then having weekly or fortnightly treatments until you notice an improvement in symptoms would be a good idea.
I offer a discount for packages of 3 or 6 treatments
