Facial Reflexology in Boroughbridge

Facial Reflexology

What is Facial Reflexology?

Facial Reflexology works on the same principle as Reflexology. By gently pressing specific places on the face, messages or signals are sent to the organs, tissues and gland of the body helping the body get back into balance. It is usually deeply relaxing and helps to leave the skin feeling supple, nourished and soft. A luxurious oil or elixir is used on the skin adding a feeling of being pampered. This helps to moisturise the skin, leaving it looking radiant and nourished. If you have sensitive skin and would prefer to use your own facial moisturiser or serum then that is ok too.

What happens in a Facial Reflexology Treatment?

After taking a thorough consultation I will use hot towels or wet wipes to refresh the face. I will start the treatment with some gentle warm up moves after which I will apply the luxurious oil blend to your skin. The reflexology sequence using a range of techniques using my fingers and thumbs comes next followed by a cool down routine. To mark the end of the treatment you will usually hear a little ‘ding’ of my bell. You will be given a short period of time to ‘come back into the room’ and a glass of water.

Please note that unlike a Beauty Facial or Holistic Facial, Facial Reflexology does NOT include any cleansing, toning, exfoliating or moisturising etc.  It is purely a reflexology treatment on the face. I am qualified to give Beauty Facials so if you would like to have a beauty facial please ask me about this at the time of booking and I can include it in my treatment for an additional cost.

What are the Benefits of Facial Reflexology?

Can help

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Decrease tension in muscles which may help reduce pain
  • Improve appearance of skin
  • Improve sleep patterns
  • Increase sense of wellbeing
  • Improve circulation to the face and head
  • Relieve foggy-headedness
  • Improve ability to focus
  • Reduce congestion in face and sinuses
  • Create a sense of calm
  • With relaxation and sleep patterns

Do I need to remove any clothes for facial reflexology?

No, apart from your footwear (you can keep your socks on!) The treatment is just on the face (and the arms, shoulders and neck but as I don’t apply oil to the arms, shoulders and neck there is no reason to remove any clothing)

What does a Facial Reflexology treatment feel like?

When I received Facial Reflexology it left me feeling energised and relaxed at the same time. I felt that it worked on a more spiritual level than regular foot reflexology. It felt deeply relaxing and I slept soundly following the treatment.

How might I feel after my Facial Reflexology Treatment?

Hopefully you will feel calm, relaxed, less stressed and with a healthy glow to your skin. However like with any treatment you might feel headachey, emotional, nauseous, a bit flu-like or notice a change in your toilet habits. All of these are very normal unless severe and should pass within 24-48 hours of the treatment, especially if you drink plenty of water and rest.

How often should I have a treatment?

If you are wanting Facial Reflexology for relaxation and general wellbeing then once a month is perfect. If you would like to address any issues then having weekly or fortnightly treatments until you notice an improvement in symptoms would be a good idea.
