What is Aromatherapy Massage?
A slower, lighter, gentler yet more luxurious massage than Swedish Massage.
Using a bespoke blend of essential oils and carrier oils to suit your needs and preferences this is massaged into the body, where it is easily absorbed via the skin so it can get straight to work in the body.
The aroma of the blend itself adds power to the treatment
What are the benefits of Aromatherapy Massage?
- Reduce tension and stress
- Reduce Anxiety and Depression
- Improve Circulation
- Improve Lymphatic Drainage
- Improve Sleep Patterns
- Improve Clarity of Thought
- Improve Focus and Concentration
- Reduce Feelings of Grief
How does Aromatherapy Massage Work?
Firstly Aromatherapy works by the aroma being picked up by the olfactory system (the aroma is breathed in via the nose where it gets taken into the olfactory system) The olfactory system is closely linked to the limbic system in the brain. It is here where memory and emotion are stored.
The second way Aromatherapy Massage works is by the massage itself. Massage helps the lymphatic system to do its job by moving lymph. It aids circulation and helps the body remove toxins. It calms and soothes stress and helps to reduce anxiety and lift low mood.
The carrier oils used will nourish and moisturise the skin. They are often packed with vitamins and minerals. The massage itself will also help the skin to renew itself (aiding desquamation)
